Dr Ronald SammutBSc (WA) , BDSc (WA)
“I was educated in Western Australia and graduated from the UWA dental school in 1989, also achieving a bachelor of science majoring in Biochemistry. The first two years of professional life were spent in the mobile unit at Fremantle Dental clinic and Safety Bay Hospital.
I have a special interest in dental trauma having worked as the On Call Emergency Dentist at Royal Perth Hospital and Consultant Dentist to Fremantle Hospital.
I commenced private practice in Fremantle in 1992, where I remained until 2013. In 2015 I then took over the Melville Dental Surgery from retiring principal Dr John Hands.
Striving to keep at the forefront of dentistry, with a strong emphasis on continuing education and compliance with dental practice accreditation; I have a strong affiliation with UWA Dental School where I remain a part-time Clinical Tutor.
Outside of dentistry, I am a competitive triathlete, cyclist and a long suffering Dockers supporter.”

I moved back to Perth to teach at the school of Dental Therapy for six years during which time I gained a Diploma of Education from Murdoch University. I established a private dental practice in Bicton and later moved it to the present location in Alfred Cove. In addition, I tutored at the Dental School of UWA for many years.
Professionally, I am a member of the Australian Dental Association and have been a member of the Australian and New Zealand Pediatric Dental Society, The Dental Study Group of WA, The Australian Society of Endodontology, the Australian Society of Periodontology and the Osseointegration Society of WA. Recently, I was inducted as a Fellow of the Pierre Fauchard Academy.
My approach to dentistry has always been to strive for excellent care for all. Helping people establish and maintain their dental health and appearance continues to be my goal.
