Dental Implants – restore your teeth for life!

If you are missing one tooth or more, you may soon find that there are other things you miss. You may miss the comfort of your own teeth, the ability to enjoy harder foods, unrestrained laughter, even kissing. In short, you may miss living as you have always lived.

Dental implants are made from pure titanium, which by a process called Osseointegration, bonds to bone as though it is your natural tooth root. The restored implant then feels and acts like your original tooth. You do not need to have one implant per tooth lost. If you have lost more than one it is possible to replace up to a full arch of teeth with only four implants provided there is enough bone to bond to.

Fortunately, you can choose among a number of ways to replace your tooth crowns. But there is only one perfect solution. When you replace one tooth or several teeth with dental implants you don’t harm either other teeth or your gums. The implant feels and serves exactly like real teeth. Furthermore they stay in place for as long as, or even longer, than real teeth.

The principle behind a dental implant is Osseointegration which is the process taking place when titanium bonds to human tissue. An implant is a titanium screw in the jaw-bone on which a new tooth is built.

Porcelain Veneers

Porcelain veneers are very thin shells of tooth-colored porcelain that are used to improve the appearance of stained or chipped teeth – particularly front teeth. They are bonded to the teeth.

The result is a complete mouth make-over, providing a new smile and new found confidence!

A crown, also called a cap, is a hollow, artificial tooth used to cover a damaged, broken, or decayed tooth. You may also need a crown if you have a weak tooth from root canal treatment, or a large filling.  The crown restores the tooth form and function and protects it from further damage.  Crowns can also be used to cover a discolored or misshapen tooth. A tooth that has been fixed with a crown looks and works very much like a natural tooth. Crowns are strong and generally last for about 10 years or longer if you take good care of them.  Regular dental visits and professional cleanings are very important for longevity.

A bridge, also called a “fixed bridge” or a “fixed dental prosthesis,” is a dental restoration that replaces one or more missing teeth. It extends across an area that has no teeth and is typically made up of an artificial tooth fused between 2 crowns. i. The bridge is held firmly in place by your own teeth on each side of the missing one(s), or by dental implants.

If you take good care of your bridge, it should generally last for about 10 years, or perhaps longer. Like natural teeth, bridges need to be brushed and flossed every day. Regular dental visits and professional cleanings are very important for longevity.
